One of the primary purposes of evaluations is to assess the skills and abilities of players so that teams can be formed in a fair and balanced manner. This helps ensure that teams are competitive and reduces the likelihood of one team dominating the competition. From a player prospective, it provides an appropriate level of challenge while offering opportunity for improvement.

All players are expected to attend evaluations, both new and returning players. For returning players, having seen them play over a period of time, we have a good idea of their ability. However, since we have not seen them play since June (spring season) or October (fall season), it's important that we have a chance to assess their development since then.

There are five general stations the kids will progress through:

• Batting
• Fielding ground balls
• Catching fly balls
• Throwing
• Pitching

Evaluations will be held in late February or early March depending on the weather. Each division will be held at a separate time and prospective coaches are expected to attend and assist in the process. Exact dates and times will be communicated as we get closer to the season.
